Twenty-two answers before you string a frame.

Send us your level, your usual court and any arm trouble, and we answer with two or three frames rather than a catalogue. The 27 inch graphite composite frame at 290 g with a 100 square inch head suits a club player who wants an all-court game without a heavy swing weight. A stiffer beam gives free power but more shock; a softer beam is kinder to a sore elbow. We would rather lose a sale than send you a frame you will hate by the third session.

Tell us your current frame, your string tension in lbs, the gauge you use, your grip size, and whether you play singles, doubles or both. Add any elbow or wrist history, how many hours a week you play, and the surface you play on most. If you are moving up from a light frame, say so, because a jump of 40 g changes the timing of every shot. With those six facts we can narrow the range in one reply.

Size by reach, not by age alone. A 23 inch frame fits roughly four to six years, 25 inch for seven to nine, 26 inch for ten to twelve, and a light 27 inch adult frame after that. Measure from the floor to the fingertips with the arm relaxed at the side. A child on the edge of two sizes should take the smaller one: an oversized frame drags the swing and teaches a late contact point. Tell us the height and we will confirm.

For a teenager still growing, yes. For an adult with a reasonable swing, no. At 290 g unstrung with a 100 square inch head, the frame is stable on a blocked return and still quick enough at the net. A beginner under about 60 kg, or anyone recovering from tennis elbow, should start with something lighter and softer and move up later. We will say that plainly instead of selling the heavier frame.

Most adult club players sit between 24 and 26 lbs. Go lower, 22 to 24 lbs, for a deeper pocket, a bigger sweet spot and a softer feel on the arm. Go higher, 27 to 28 lbs, for a flatter, more controlled ball and a shorter string life. Polyester at the same number plays firmer and dies faster than a multifilament, so a poly bed often needs to start two pounds lower than a synthetic gut bed.

Yes, and more than most players expect. A 1.25 mm gauge gives more bite and spin but breaks sooner; a 1.30 mm gauge lasts longer and feels more solid on a flat hit. If you break a 1.25 mm bed inside three weeks, move to 1.30 mm before you change frames. If you want more spin and your arm tolerates it, the thinner string helps. Tell us how often you break strings and we will recommend accordingly.

Yes. One layer of 0.6 mm overgrip adds roughly one size, which is why most players can solve a G2 handle with a good overgrip. If you need a genuine G4, we fit a sleeve and re-tape the pallet rather than telling you to buy a new racket. Send us the gap between your fingertips and the heel of your hand, or trace your hand on paper with a ruler beside it, and we will match the build.

Yes, and we string between 18 and 30 lbs. Above 30 lbs we advise against it and may decline, because over-tension is one of the commonest causes of a cracked frame. Bring or send the frame with the tension, gauge and string model you want, and tell us if a grommet is split, because a new bed will not survive a sharp hole. A standard restring takes two working days once the frame is on the bench.

It covers a manufacturing defect: a crack that appears at the throat or head under normal play, a soft spot in the string bed, a twisted pallet or a loose butt cap. It runs for 12 months from delivery and we replace the frame with the same model or the nearest equivalent. It does not cover the string bed, paint scuffs, a scuffed bumper guard, or damage from a clash, a throw or heat.

No. String breakage is not a frame fault, whatever the age of the frame. A bed can snap from a mis-hit near the frame edge, from a sharp or worn grommet, from a knot pulling through, or simply from hours of play. Send a photograph of the break and the grommets, and we will restring at the standard service price. If a grommet set is split or worn through we replace the set free within 30 days of delivery.

A clash crack is impact damage, not a manufacturing fault, so the warranty does not cover it. Send photographs anyway: if the frame is repairable we will quote the work, and if it is not we will quote a replacement at cost rather than full retail. A crack with a paint chip and a compression mark at the point of contact is a clash. A clean crack at the throat with no impact mark usually is not.

Grommets are the plastic channels that protect the string as it passes through the frame. They split, flatten and harden with use, and a sharp edge will cut a new string within a session. Check the head at every restring. If a set is split or worn through within 30 days of delivery we send or fit a replacement free. After that we charge for the set, and it is cheap insurance against a broken bed.

Keep pressure balls in the sealed can at room temperature and they hold their bounce for weeks. An opened can loses pressure within days, which is why an opened can cannot be returned. Do not leave a can in a car or a hot locker. Nylon shuttles survive humidity better than feather, but feather shuttles need moisture to stay supple: a steamy bathroom overnight helps, while a dry hot room makes the feathers brittle and shortens their life.

Check the bed with the flat of your hand after each session: a soft patch or a sliding string means the bed is going. Cut out a broken bed rather than playing on, because a dead bed loads the frame unevenly. Wipe the frame with a dry cloth, keep it out of the sun, and do not leave it in a hot boot. A poly bed loses tension faster than a multifilament, so most club players restring every 8 to 12 weeks.

Yes. A graphite frame left in a hot car, or a bag in direct summer sun, can soften resin, distort a pallet and lift a grip. Heat also kills the pressure in a ball can faster than play does. Store the bag indoors, out of the sun, and let a damp towel or wristband dry before it goes back in. If a frame has been in serious heat and feels different, tell us and we will inspect it.

Everything leaves our Hong Kong desk. Standard packing takes three working days after payment clears, and transit is typically 5 to 12 working days by courier depending on destination. Frames go in a rigid carton with the head supported; a frame that needs stringing or a grip build adds two working days. The lead time on your invoice is the one that counts, because stock and stringing slots move week by week.

The buyer is the importer of record and pays all duty, VAT, GST, brokerage and clearance charges unless a written quote says DDP. We supply the commercial invoice and packing list the courier needs, and we will answer questions from your broker. If a parcel is refused or returned by customs because duty was not paid, we refund the item price once it reaches us and deduct the freight we paid in both directions.

No, not for change of mind. Once a frame has been strung, gripped and played, the string bed has taken a set and the grip has taken a hand shape, so it cannot be sold again. An unstrung frame still in the wrap can come back inside 14 days of delivery. A frame that cracks under normal play inside the 12-month warranty is replaced instead. Those are two different routes and neither is a change of mind.

Photograph the carton and the item on the delivery day, before you string or use anything, then write to us with your order reference. Report transit damage the same day and a short delivery or wrong item within three working days. We replace the damaged part or the whole item with freight on us. A claim raised after the frame has been strung and played is very hard to assess, and we may have to decline it for that reason alone.

We hold enquiry details, restringing and warranty records and order correspondence under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong. Enquiries are deleted after 24 months; invoices are kept for seven years. You may ask to see, correct or delete what we hold. A complaint is acknowledged within one working day and answered in writing within five. If a data issue is not settled between us you may take it to the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.
